Croydon

Croydon is a famous town in south London, England. Croydon town grew in the middle ages as a market town and a hub for leather tanning, charcoal production, and brewing.

Croydon had a church at the time of the Norman conquest of Great Briton. There were around 365 inhabitants and a mill as recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. It is part of the hundred of Wallington in the region of Surrey.
