Mayfair

Mayfair is a wealthy district in the west edge of London to the eastern end of Hyde Park. It is situated in the Westminster city and located between Park Lane, Regent Street, Oxford Street, and Piccadilly. This district is one of the most upscale areas in London as well as in the whole world.

The area was part of “Eia” and remained mostly rural till the early 18th century. But Mayfair is the most beautiful city in London.

Mayfair has had a variety of shops, restaurants, hotels, and clubs since the 19th century. The Bond Street region is the home of various commercial art galleries and international sale houses such as Christie, Bonhams, and Sotheby.

Transportation:

The Mayfair has no direct London Underground railway stations. However, there are several railway stations on the boundaries. These include Bond Street, Oxford Circus and Marble Arch along Oxford Street is on the northern side.

Green Park and Piccadilly Circus are along Piccadilly on the southern side, near the Hyde Park Corner close by in Knightsbridge. While there is just one bus route in Mayfair district itself, it is 24-hour route C2. There are several bus routes near to the perimeter roads.

Attractions of the Place:

There are numerous places in Mayfair district where you can visit and enjoy. Like The Royal Academy of Arts, Green Park, Handel, and Hendrix in London, Bond Street, Burlington Arcade, West End, Halcyon Gallery, Still Water Horse Head Statue, Grosvenor Square, Berkeley Square, Savile Row, Park Lane and many more.

The Royal Academy of Arts established in the 17th century. It is a thriving centre of artistic excellence and is the traditional fine arts institution in Britain. Its exhibitions attract over a million people every year.

Green Park is a pleasant green space in the centre of London. Here you can escape some of the hustle and bustle of this frenetic city and enjoy a bit of time out.
